Fasenove is a pseudonym I use as an artist. It means "Phase Nine" in Portuguese, and I see it as symbolic of a final phase in my personal evolution.
For a number of years I have been focused on writing and photography, while letting my art fall by the wayside. I still have a long way to go before my art has become as habitual and expansive as my photography has over the years, and this will only come with continued practice and devotion to personal growth.
At the beginning of 2012 I devoted time to creating and uploading drawings and digital art daily, which resulted in more than fifty original creations, over the course of two months. Since then I have shifted once again back to photography and other pursuits, with new Photography classes during Winter quarter of 2013. This has opened a lot of windows to new practices and techniques that will continue to have an impact on me from here on.
Now that Spring is here I have again taken up a new focus on Art. Finally taking a drawing class for the first time in my adult life. It is all fairly new to me, as I've never really known what I was doing when it came to drawing, aside from mere play and experimentation.
This is in essence a new beginning, and there's no telling where it will lead. All I can do for now is stay focused and keep the pencil busy.
